Sheryl Hoyer, M.D., F.A.A.D.

Dr. Sheryl Hoyer  is a board-certified dermatologist who has practiced in the northern suburbs of Chicago for >20 years.  Seeing patients of all ages, she practices general medical dermatology and cosmetic dermatology.  Her interests include biologic medications for psoriasis and eczema, isotretinoin (“Accutane”) for acne, cosmetic filler/Botox treatments for aging, the screening and prevention of skin cancer, and the removal of concerning skin lesions.

Dr. Hoyer is also a leader in the dermatology community.  She recently finished her reign as vice president of the Illinois Dermatological Society, having successfully lobbied with other board members for a law prohibiting Illinois minors from using tanning beds.  She earned her medical degree from the University of Chicago and was an internal medicine intern at Northwestern before completing her dermatology residency at Cook County Hospital, serving as chief resident.  She has taught dermatology residents at the University of Chicago for four years (including helping to run the resident cosmetic dermatology clinic), family medicine residents at Northwestern for three years, and is now enjoying working with dermatology residents at the University of Illinois at Chicago.  She has had a professional relationship with Dr. Scheman for many years, and is so excited to now officially join his team! She is excited to work in Northbrook where she and her husband live and have raised their children.
